Feedback on Perkins V State Plan for CTE

Feedback on Perkins V State Plan for CTE

Hello,

The California State Board of Education (SBE), the California Department of Education (CDE), and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) is seeking feedback from the public on the Draft California Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) State Plan, which was approved for public feedback by the California Workforce Pathways Joint Advisory Committee (CWPJAC) at their November 25, 2019 meeting. Additional information can be found on the CWPJAC’s webpage at, https://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/ct/gi/workpathjac.asp.

Perkins V was signed into law on July 31, 2018. This bipartisan measure reauthorized the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 and continued Congress’ commitment in providing nearly $1.3 billion annually for career and technical education (CTE) programs for our nation’s youth and adults. California receives approximately $127 million annually to support CTE programs and pathways.

The public feedback window for the Draft California Perkins V State Plan will open on December 2, 2019, and close on January 3, 2020.

In addition to the online survey, to collect Public Feedback, there will be four Public Meeting Sessions, as follows:

• Monday, December 2, 2019 – Two, two-hour sessions, one at 10:00 A.M. and another at 1:00 P.M.
