Advisor Conference Reminder and Grant Funding Opportunity

Advisors,

The purpose of this email is to share two important items: 1. A reminder to register for our annual Advisor Conference and 2. Information from our State Advisor, Molly Anderson, regarding availability of the next round of CTE Incentive Grant (CTEIG) funding. Please read on:

A Message from your CA DECA State Advisor

I hope you all had a great summer with the perfect combination of rest and play! I’m looking forward to seeing all of you at the advisors’ conference in September. However, I wanted to bring something to your attention before then:

Funding! As you know, California has made a significant commitment to supporting CTE programs – including CTSO’s. Approximately 56 million of ongoing dollars are being allocated to the field. The next round of CTE Incentive Grant (CTEIG) applications will be made available mid-September 2019 with a due date of November 2019. PLEASE make your needs known to the CTEIG Coordinator at your site and/or District Office. I have seen applications come into our office with no mention of you, your pathway, or your CTSO. CTEIG funds are intended to support your programs, but your program must be mentioned in the application! Now is the time to make your needs known at the site level. CTEIG dollars can be used to pay affiliation fees, pay for travel in or out-of-state, registration fees, etc. etc. Applications will be due November 15th and funds are expected to reach your districts by March for the 2019-20 school year.

Happy New School Year – go work with our students and do what you do best! Thank you!

Molly
